Ground Ladder Testing

The new 2010 edition of NFPA 1932, Standard on Use, Maintenance, and Service Testing of In-Service Fire Department Ground Ladders, was prepared by the Technical Committee on Fire Department Ground Ladders. It was issued by the Standards Council on October 27, 2009, with an effective date of December 2009.

Ground ladder testing includes:

· Factory trained technicians

· Removal of ladders from apparatus to testing area

· Cleaning of all ladders

· Inspecting in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and NFPA 1932

· Testing in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and NFPA 1932

· Installation of new heat sensor and safety labels on all ladders that pass and need labels

· Repairs (if needed)

· Completion and delivery of computerized reports
