Nozzles shall be inspected in accordance with NFPA 1962, Standard for the Inspection, Care, and Use of Fire Hose, Couplings, and Nozzles and the Service Testing of Fire Hose, 2008 Edition.  All nozzles shall be maintained in accordance with the respective nozzle manufacturer’s instructions.

 

All nozzles shall be inspected after each use and at least annually.  The nozzle inspection shall include verification of the following:

· Waterway clear of obstructions

· No damage to tip

· Full operation of adjustments such as pattern selection and so forth

· Proper operation of shutoff valve, if so equipped

· No missing parts

· Thread gasket in good condition in accordance with 4-3.1
