Fire hose testing includes:
Removal of fire hose from apparatus or rack
Identification numbers labeled on fire hose according to your system, or if you prefer, FireOne's system
Labeling of each length of hose with FireOne labels
Recording of all information for each length of hose
Testing and inspecting of fire hose in accordance with NFPA 1962 (2003 Edition)
Rolling and repacking of fire hose in the same place and method it was removed
Completion and delivery of computerized reports
All fire hose shall be inspected and service tested in accordance with the applicable requirements of NFPA 1962, Standard for the Care, Use and Service Testing of Fire Hose Including Couplings and Nozzles. The purpose of this standard is to provide a reasonable level of safety for users of fire hose and a reasonable degree of assurance that the hose, coupling assemblies and nozzles will perform as designed and applies to the care of all types of fire hose, coupling assemblies and nozzles while in service, in use and after use, including inspecting and service testing.
